Walther Model 3 Model 4, Transitional, RARE!
Exceedingly scarce Walther Model 4, usually termed the transitional Model 3/Model 4 by collectors, as its slide has most of the features of the Model 3 including the grooved sighting arrangement and manner of takedown. SN:31265. Cal: 7.65mm. This first variation Model 4, made during WWI, has a 3.5” barrel, fixed front sight, and grooved slide to act as rear sight. Barrel bushing has a small rectangular recess that aligns with the slide groove to position the bushing. Left side of slide with single line Walther address over banner. Crown/N proofing on barrel repeated on left side of slide and adjacent frame. Usual S/F safety detents. Full serial number on right frame behind trigger. Hard rubber grips, possibly from a later pistol, each panel with an intertwined “C/W” over a checkered field. Bottom release magazine with right side of body having seven indicator holes. Condition: Approximately VG original blue with moderate wear and spotting as pictured. Excellent original grips. Comparable condition magazine. Bright bore with sharp rifling.
