Walther P38, Early HP, Swedish Contract. #A-1167
Exceptional, EARLY, high polish original finish Walther HP Swedish contract with square head firing pin, all matching except for closely numbered magazine. SN: H1515. Cal: 9mmP. Standard configuration Walther P38 with 5” barrel having drift adjustable front sight, removeable rear sight, and early, square head firing pin. Left side of thick slide with usual modified two line address including the Walther banner and suffixed by “Mod.HP”. The full serial number appears on the right side of the frame, under the barrel, inside the slide with the last few digits on the locking block. Usual E/N acceptance proofs on the right side of the slide and frame. Fitted with correct black checkered grips with circular recess for lanyard loop. Polished magazine numbered “1293”. Condition: Outstanding 97% original bright blue with sharp edge wear and a scattering of fine scratches principally on the sides of the slide. Negligible wear on the trigger guard and frontstrap. Comparable condition grips though the left panel has some rounding at the bottom edge. Magazine body is polished and floor plate retention ill-fitting. Mirror bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. A great early Swedish Contract P38 whose questionable magazine could easily be replaced. A HISTORIC INVESTMENT!
