Walther P38, coded in WWII ac43, later reworked for the post war Austrian Military, before being imported by Interarms. SN: 88535m. Cal: 9mmP. Standard configuration P38 with a 5” barrel having a drift adjustable front sight and inserted rear sight. Usual address on left side of slide with full complement of inspection/test proofs on right side. During the rework the usual four digit serial number on the left side of the frame was replaced with the current five digit serial number that was repeatd twice on the left side of the slide, under the barrel and on the locking block. As part of the Austrian Army reflected by the “ BH” marking on the left side of the frame. When released as surplice the gun was imported by Interarms whose abreviated markings are on the right side of the frame. Fitted with late war dark composition grips and unmarked magazine. Condition: Very good as reworked with sharp edge wear and thinning in expected areas. Mirror bright bore. Perfect manual mechanics. An mid production military pistol whose markings and postwar use underscore a very interesting history. A HISTORIC INVESTMENT!   #A1059
