Star B, Scarce Wartime Commercial. #A-1121
Original Star Model B, made in 1944, in a short run of about 1100 commercial pistols, in the middle of a large Nazi procurement. SN: 254407. Cal: 9mmP. Standard configuration Star Model B. Left side of slide with the usual two line address denoting Star’s location and caliber. Left side of frame with proofing triad including the letter “O” reflecting application in 1944. Encircled pistol proof repeated at the rear of the left slide and on exposed chamber that is otherwise unmarked. No import markings. Checkered walnut grips, with large diamonds around screws, same as the Nazi contract pistols. Magazine with two indicator slots on the right side and a “STAR” marked floorplate secured with two folds. Condition: VG original blue with moderate holster wear. Grips oil darkened with several areas of slightly blunted areas of checkering, particularly on the right panel, that has a hairline crack near the bottom screw. Comparable condition magazine. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. A scarce wartime era commercial Star (254301-254550) made in the middle of a large Nazi procurement(248001-254300; 254551-256250).
