Sig Sauer P226 with Nitron finished slide, night sights, marked for the Canton Police of Vaud (Gendarmerie Vaudoise). SN: U523403. Cal: 9mmP. Standard configuration P226 whose left slide is manufacturer marked. “SIG SAUER” followed by the Police Shield featuring “GV” over a cross hatched field. IDENTICAL markings to the P226 shown in the book “Faustfeuerwaffen” by Schweinfurth on page 92. Right side of slide marked with model and serial number. Visible barrel hood marked with caliber and BP proofing. Disassembly shows a matching serial number on the left side adjacent to “SIG SAUER”. The full SN is repeated on the right side of the frame, just above the trigger guard. Fitted with matte textured grips; the left panel marked “P226”, the right marked “SIG SAUER”. Factory 15 shot magazine, made under subcontract by MecGar of Italy, that SIG SAUER marked on the left side, the right side having three indicator holes marked “5,10,15”. Condition: Approximately 97-98% original finish with sharp edge/holster wear consistent with careful service use. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics.
