SIG P49 Swiss Early Military
SIG P49 Swiss Military Serial Number A106770. Cal 9mmP. Exceptionally nice, all original SIG P49 with high polish finish is typical for the early military pistols. Standard configuration single action pistol with 4.75” barrel and drift adjustable front and rear sight. The left side of the slide and frame are proofed and marked with the full serial number that is repeated on the right side of the barrel hood. Safety detentes are marked with an “S” in white and “F” in red. “P” release marked in front of trigger guard and discreetly applied import marking on base of frame where covered by the magazine floorplate. Disassembly shows a matching half cock hammer group numbered 06770. Fitted with serrated walnut grips secured with fire blued screw. Fixed lanyard ring. Complete with correct high polish magazine. At least 99% original salt blue that equally applies to the frontstrap. Grips are in the same condition, retaining virtually all their original varnish and having only the most minute handling dings. Mirror bright bore and perfect manual mechanics. Accompanied by a near excellent condition military holster whose obverse surface is marked “ A.BUHLER/Sattler/MURRI(AARG)” and dated “50” (reflecting production in 1950). Added stud to allow retention of reversed flap when preparing for battle and fitted with early style shoulder strap, made by the same manufacturer but dated “53”. An extremely high condition early military P49 that would grace any collection. Inventory #A-1.
