Walther P38, Post War, .22LR, Original Box
Scarce Walther P38, made 1969, in cal .22LR, imported by Interarms, boxed with spare magazine and booklets. SN: 330038. Cal .22LR. This P38 comes in the original wood grain shipping box with silver lettering. Red/black end label, likely a replacement, designating the pistol, caliber and serial number. Standard configuration with 5” barrel having drift adjustable front sight and fixed rear sight. Lightened slide with usual two line Walther legend on left side stipulating “P38 Cal .22 l.r.” The right side of the slide, dated 9/69, is marked with the Interarms logo along with the Eagle/N proof that is repeated under the barrel. The left side of the trigger guard is marked with the year “69” next to the antler proof and Eagle/N. Fitted with two piece walnut grips having blunted checkering with the left side recessed for the lanyard loop. Accompanied with two high polish magazines manufactured to reliably feed the .22LR cartridge and marked with the Walther banner along with the European denomination “cal.5.6mm”. The barrel and slide have a matte finish while the alloy frame is black anodized. Each of the magazines were finished with high polish salt blue. Standard Interarms instruction booklet personalized to include caliber, serial number and date of manufacture. Condition: Pistol has at least 99% original finish with just trace sharp edge wear and a few small marks over the barrel hood from having opened the action. No discernible wear on the alloy frame. The wood grips are in the same top condition as are each of the two 22LR magazines. Shipping box is solid without having been glued or taped. Overall, an extremely difficult to find Post War P38, particularly when fitted with the scarce wood grips. A HISTORIC INVESTMENT!
