Sauer M1913, Scarce RFV issue, matching magazine
Extremely unusual Sauer M1913 issued to the Reich Finance Ministry, weapon # 962, with matching magazine. SN: 109176. Cal 7.65mm. Standard configuration Sauer M1913 with fixed front and rear sight. Top of slide with usual single line “J.P. Sauer & Sohn” address followed by corporate logo. On the left side of the slide under the blue, is the “ R.F.V. 962.” marking that reflects issue to the Reich Finance Ministry. The rest of the slide with usual commercial markings: “PATENT” on left side with “CAL.7.65.” on right side. The full serial number is on the left frame with Crown/N proof on the right side, just behind the trigger guard cutout and repeated on slide cap. Grip panels molded with the “S&S” logo over a checked bordered body. Magazine with two indicator slots on each side and integral base with matching RFV “962 I”. Accompanied by a nondescript chocolate brown commercial holster with a snap lid and a repaired, riveted, belt loop. Condition: Approximately 98% of an old restoration/rework though the safety lever, grips, grip screws and magazine remain untouched. Grips are particularly nice as would befit a gun with 98% original finish. Dull bore with shallow rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. Fair holster. It is very difficult to find a RFV Sauer, particularly with a matching magazine.
