Standard configuration Remington Rand with 5” barrel whose slide has a fixed front sight and a drift adjustable rear sight. SN: 1034623. Cal:.45ACP. Remington Rand Inc. two line address on left side of slide. Frame is marked is marked with “ FJA” inspector initials just below the holdopen. The right side of the frame has the ordinance proof along with the US property/M1911 A1 marking over the full serial number. Major and virtually all minor parts are parkerized except for the blued barrel that was supplied by High Standard as reflected by the HS marking on the lug. Standard checkered brown grips, the right panel having a small chip near the magazine release retainer, and blued magazine marked “L” on the inner toe. Condition: Approximately 95-97% original parkerizing with a faint transition line on the forward slide and slight thinning on the front strap. Sharp edge wear in expected locations from careful use that is equally reflected by the wear on the barrel hood. Grips with previously mentioned chip on right panel (an easy replacement). Near excellent condition magazine. Bright bore with strong rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. An extremely nice example of a WWII GI .45 as carried by so many of our soldiers. A HISTORIC INVESTMENT!
