Rare US Marine Corps Decommissioned Colt M45A1 Pistol, Box
One of very few decommissioned Marine Corps Colt M45A1, close quarters combat pistol, near new in original shipping box with factory letter. SN: 05185EGA. Cal: .45ACP. 1,000 of these pistols (470 used and 530 unissued) were traded by the Marine Corps under warranty back to Colt in exchange for newer Ionbond finished replacements. The guns were subsequently released via a Colt distributor to the public. A rare opportunity, these US military pistols are the first of their type to be offered on the civilian market since the DCM stopped handgun sales over 50 years ago. The factory letter confirms the Desert Tan Cerakote finish, frame with accessory rail, National Match grade barrel, forward and rear serrations on the slide, long aluminum trigger, extended ambidextrous thumb safety, extended beavertail grip safety, flat serrated mainspring housing with lanyard loop, Novak 3 dot night sights, and G10 composite grips. The slide is correctly marked with the "USMC" marking that has been factory marked with an "X" to reflect its decommission from the U.S. Marine Corp. Complete with original matching numbered plain shipping box. Condition: Pistol appears nearly as issued, with the exception of the Xed-out USMC marking and the most minor handling marks. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. A rare opportunity to purchase a virtually new U.S. Marine Corps as was issued to both the Special Operations and Force Recon units, in its box with factory letter. A HISTORIC INVESTMENT! A-940.
