Seldom encountered and very early production French Model 1950 made by Manufacturer d’Armes de Chatellerault (MAC). SN: A1282. Cal: 9mmP. MAC made a total of 221,900 pistols between 1953 – 1963. These all-parkerized pistols were serial numbered in blocks of 10,000, each block noted with a letter prefix. “A ” was used for the first block; the last block started with a “W”. As the 1282nd pistol made by MAC, it was likely completed in late 1953, possibly early 1954. It has a 4.5” barrel, fixed sights, a top mounted loaded indicator, and a firing pin blocking safety. The left side of the slide is manufacturer marked “MAC”. The right side has a two line address marked “MODELE 1950/CAL. 9mm”. The word ”FRANCE” and full serial number on right frame. Backstrap is recessed with a crosspin for a lanyard ring. Serrated black plastic panels, each secured with two screws. Single column magazine with eight indicator holes and a detachable floorplate marked “1950”. No import marks! Condition: VG-EXC original condition with sharp edge wear and minor discoloration as one might expect of a gun that has spent most of its time in a holster, especially as there is little wear to the front and backstrap. Same condition applies to the grips and magazine. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. An extremely early and classic French pistol based on the SIG Petter design, seldom offered for sale. A HISTORIC INVESTMENT!  #A- 1174
