Japanese Nambu, Tokyo, 4.9 Date, Exceptional!
Wonderful early Japanese T14 made by the Tokyo Arsenal, dated 4.9, reflecting manufacture in Sept 1929. SN: 6330. Cal: 8mm Nambu. Standard configuration Japanese Nambu with 4.5” barrel having drift adjustable front sight and fixed rear sight. Left side of receiver marked with the usual Kanji, the right side marked with the stacked cannonball Tokyo symbol followed by the full serial number. Just below, on the receiver is the 4.9 date. Most major and a few minor parts are rust blued. Strawed safety, trigger and magazine release button. Wood serrated grips. Early nickel plated magazine, with same inspector marking, numbered “319”. Disassembly shows all matching numbers except for an unnumbered firing pin and closely numbered magazine. Even the grips are factory matching. Condition: Well over 95% bright original rust blue showing minimal sharp edge wear. The “downgrade” was made to reflect the slight dulling of the grip straps. Original strawed parts are in comparable condition as are the grips. Mirror bright bore. Perfect manual mechanics. A great, early Tokyo Arsenal Nambu, whose condition would be very difficult to improve upon. A HISTORIC INVESTMENT!
