German Ortgies Pocket Pistols, Lot of Two. #A-1195-1196
Pair of very attractive Ortgies Pocket Pistols with different addresses and logos. SN: 56310; 122624. Cal: 7.65mm. Standard configuration Ortgies pocket pistols with fixed sights and grip safety. Left side of slide marked with the company name. The earlier pistol has a three line address: the later pistol has a single line address that includes the Deutsche Werke logo and a single line “ORTGIES’ PATENT” on the right side. Exposed barrel hoods marked with the caliber. Crown/N proofing on barrel hoods, adjacent slide, and frame. Smooth wood panels with different Ortgies logos as correct to their era of manufacture. Magazines are frosted with folded base having Deutsche Werke logo and caliber. Condition: Although the pistols would appear to be in the same excellent condition, the one with the lower serial number is a rework with beautifully planes and super sharp markings suggesting a factory effort. Comparable condition grips with scattered dings but no suggestion of sanding or repair. Comparable condition magazines. Bright bores with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. A great looking pair of differently marked Ortgies Pocket Pistols in the same caliber. A HISTORIC INVESTMENT! Inv# A-1195 & A-1196.
