FN Hi Power, WWII, Capture Papers
Very attractive, late WWII Hi Power Rig with Pre-war holster, spare magazine, original capture papers with extra tagging for pistol. SN: 41552b. Cal: 9mmP. Standard configuration late war, fixed sight Hi Power, with “b” suffix. There are no Waffenamt markings on the pistol. An Eagle/N is lightly marked on the left side of the frame just above the trigger. No magazine safety. Stacked matching numbers on the exposed barrel hood, slide and frame. Plastic, dark brown checkered grips with border. Correct late war magazines, neither with Waffenamt markings, with aluminum follower and split tail base. Dark brown holster, with provision for spare magazine, as would be used on a Pre-war Belgian Army shoulder stock. The ensemble comes complete with original capture papers dated 20 March 1946 and a comment certifying that the owner was in possession of this pistol prior to V.E. Day. There is a second original certificate that matches the serial number of this pistol along with a hanging tag. All documents refer to Louis R. Albelo as the returning serviceman. Albelo was in the 310 Infantry Regiment; there is also a short photocopied history. Condition: Near excellent original condition with sharp edge wear and a few areas of thinning as one might expect from a service pistol that was carried near the end of the war. Touchup applied to backstrap. Excellent grips and magazines. Mirror bright bore with strong rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. Attractive holster with supple leather and original stitching showing no repairs. Original capture papers with folds and faded ink as typical after 70 years. A very attractive, and complete HP rig with wonderful documentation. A HISTORIC INVESTMENT!
