Finnish Lahti, L-35, Experimental Shoulder Stock, Ensemble.
Phenomenal first variation military L-35 Lahti, one of the first to have been issued in 1940, with original, experimental shoulder stock, cased with spare magazines, cartridges, take down tool, cleaning rod, wipe rag, in custom presentation case that includes L-35 Lahti reference manual. SN: 1531. Cal. 9mmP. Standard configuration first variation military Lahti with 4.75” barrel having drift adjustable front sight and fixed rear sight. “VKT” and “L-35” marked on top of slide that has the prominent rounded protrusion to house accelerator in front of rear sight. Full matching serial number on left side of slide, left side of frame and on top of bolt. Electropenciled “E” on various small parts including the shaft of the takedown lever, trigger, and narrow cover plate in front of frame. Correct brown mottled plastic grips each molded with the VKT logo and secured with a single screw. Finnish Lahti magazine with an in-the-white body (no SA marking) and blued floorplate. Original, experimental shoulder stock with two piece body, stained and heavily varnished, as correct. Small parts salt blued with lug having heavy mill marks and small inspection marking on right side. Spare magazine is kept in a sheet metal housing mounted on lower spine with spring loaded retainer. Dark brown leather hanger with pebbled leather surface. Blued cleaning rod and take down tool. Box of ammunition, 25 rounds, Finnish marked and dated 26 November 1959. In addition to the magazine in pistol there are two spare magazines; one with an in-the-white body having two holes in the right side and a pinned base, the other a standard Husqvarna magazine. Wipe rag as sold in Finland. Two keys for case on brass chain with wooden tab. Wood attache case, leather trimmed on upper and lower surface. Forest green lining with compartmentalization for pistol, stock and components as photographed. Shallow recess in lid for reference booklet detailing the L-35 variations printed Finnish language 1982. Condition: Pistol is excellent with 90-95% bright original salt blue. Sharp edge wear and slight thinning as appropriate to a lightly used service pistol. Mirror bright bore with strong rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. Excellent original shoulder stock with a small bruise on the right side of the neck and a patch of bluing loss on the magazine housing. No separations, evidence of repair, or touch-up. Same, exemplary condition applies to the hanger, minor components, and booklet. An absolutely phenomenal ensemble seldom offered for sale and virtually never in this condition. Especially striking as displayed in this super-high quality presentation case. Very, very impressive! A HISTORIC INVESTMENT!
