DWM 1908 Brazilian Rifle, Matching Bayonet. Spectacular!
Beautiful DWM M1908 Brazilian rifle with Matching Bayonet. SN: 5900. Cal: 7x57 IS. Absolutely wonderful DWM Model 1908 Brazilian with original sling and matching bayonet with scabbard. Standard configuration rifle with in-the-white receiver, bolt, buttplate and cleaning rod. Chamber marked with Brazilian crest. On the left is the serial number bracketed by inspector proofs. Further toward the rear is the two line DWM legend along with location in Oberndorf. The right side of the receiver is marked “Mod. 1908”. Matching numbered bolt and usual small parts with the bolt release, components of the rear sight, trigger, and various screws heat treated to a brilliant fire blue. Blued barrel and bands. Bayonet mount grayed. Matching walnut stock, numbered below bottom sling swivel, with acceptance below disc on right side and usual scattering of inspector marks. Complete with brass/steel muzzle cap and matching bayonet, numbered on cross guard, blade made by Simson & Co/Suhl. Correct scabbard with black leather sheath and brass fittings. Original unmarked sling. Condition: Although this rifle is not “new” it would be virtually impossible to upgrade. In-the-white metal is bright with minimal staining. The fire blued parts are brilliant with no discernible sharp edge wear and the stock has only the most minute storage/handling dings. Mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. The same exemplary condition applies to the matching bayonet. Sling with mild crazing but still quite supple. A truly fantastic M1908 Brazilian Rifle with matching bayonet! A HISTORIC INVESTMENT!
