Colt 1903, First variation, Factory rework.
Very scarce Colt 1903, first variation with pinned bushing, having later slide legend as applied during factory rework with “K” on right side of trigger guard. SN: 51386. Cal: .32 ACP. Standard configuration Colt 1903 with fixed front and drift adjustable rear sight. Left side of slide marked with later two line address having a rampant Colt (without encirclement) behind serrations. The right side of the slide marked “COLT AUTOMATIC/CALIBRE 32 RIMLESS SMOKELESS”. The full serial number is on the left side of the frame with triangular inspection on adjacent trigger guard web. The “K” marking, with proud metal, on the right trigger guard web. Correct Colt grips and later two tone magazine, likely supplied at the time of the rework. Condition: Approximately 98% bright Colt factory prewar blue with minimal sharp edge wear. Same applies to the all-blued barrel in addition to front and backstrap. Grips with blunted checkering but no discernible cracks or splits. Near excellent original magazine with faded floorplate. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. One of the scarcest 1st variation reworks, well suited to the advanced Colt collector
